Engagement Hub is administered by the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (the Department). This Privacy Notice explains how personal information provided by you on Engagement Hub will be handled. Your personal information is protected by law, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What is Engagement Hub: We use Engagement Hub to communicate with stakeholders about Australia’s engagement with the UNFCCC and manage event applications. Engagement Hub is owned and hosted by My Business App Pty Ltd. Our contractual arrangements require My Business App to comply with all relevant laws, including the Privacy Act.
Your personal information and consent: When you interact with Engagement Hub (e.g. by registering as a user or submitting an EOI), you will be asked to provide personal information including your name, contact details, and occasionally your gender and cultural or ethnic background.
You can use a pseudonym and/or elect not to provide your personal information. However, this may limit your ability to register/apply for events and our ability to engage with you. You cannot register anonymously.
If you provide personal information in Engagement Hub (including sensitive information such as your cultural or ethnic background), you consent to that information being collected, used and disclosed in accordance with this Privacy Notice.
How your personal information will be used and disclosed: We collect your personal information for the purpose of providing information on Australia’s engagement with the UNFCCC, conducting stakeholder consultation and engagement, and event registration/application (including COP28).
We will use your personal information to respond to you and/or process your applications, inform you about matters that we consider may interest you, analyse stakeholder data, policy development, reporting, and related purposes.
We may disclose your personal information to other Australian Government entities and third party consultants for the above purposes, and as otherwise authorised or required by law. My Business App may access information and data in Engagement Hub to provide technical support only.
Online publishing: Your ‘Screen Name’, ‘Avatar’ and ‘Comments’ will be publicly displayed in Engagement Hub if you utilise the Online Forum, Interactive Mapping, Ideas Wall or Interactive Document. Survey submissions, EOIs and applications will not be publicly disclosed.
Third Party Links: The Engagement Hub platform may provide links to websites hosted by third parties. This Privacy Notice and our
Privacy Policy does not extend to those websites. Neither the Australian Government nor My Business App are responsible for their content or activities.
Spam: We will communicate electronically with you when you opt-in to our software or newsletters. You can opt out at any time. My Business App cannot access your information and will not communicate with you.
